No matter what kind of adventurer you plan to be during your playthrough of The Outer Worlds, you'll want to take your time in each and every location you visit. #The outer worlds byzantium full#Eridanos is the most exciting settlement to visit out of all the planets in the Halcyon system, full of intrigue, action, and fun distractions. Your companions will all reside here during your stay at the hotel, giving them a chance to rest and relax. There's a pool, a wilderness retreat, and even your very own Penthouse. The Hotel and its surrounding area are full of fun places to explore, such as an impressive (if slightly deadly) hedge maze. Still, there's plenty to do here while you try to solve the case. You've been urgently tasked with visiting the Grand Colonial Hotel to investigate the mysterious murder of Halcyon Helen. There's so much detail put into this settlement. The DLC is fantastic and inspires hope that the game's sequel will be just as amazing as the first. This outstanding settlement is a part of the Murder On Eridanos DLC. I'm all for a frontal assault, but at least a way to disguise yourself, to be able to walk through. There are around 16 settlements in the game, but here are the best ones to visit. I KNOW that there's a faction reputation system, and the Board dosen't like me and their troops are 'kill on sight', but that various citizens and shopkeepers does too is just a bit too much, it really messes with any mission you need to do on Byzantium, when you're on bad terms with the Board. A lot of detail and care has been put into the various settlements dotted around the solar system, and they are all worth checking out. ![]() This could include cutting out all of the dangerous Monarch visits entirely if you really wanted to. This freedom means that you can skip certain planets and settlements as you focus on your mission. You are left to decide for yourself how you want to navigate the Halcyon Solar System. RELATED: The Outer Worlds: The Hardest Decisions & Their ConsequencesĪlthough there is a clear primary goal to strive for in The Outer Worlds (attempt to save the passengers of The Hope), your options in how you go about this quest are pretty vast. You really do feel like an explorer, visiting various societies, encountering deadly monsters, and having fun along the way. The Outer Worlds is a chaotic, funny, fast-paced RPG. You're lobbed down onto a planet and left to set off on your own. Set in a distant space colony on the brink of collapse, you play as a recently awakened passenger of the Hope Colony Ship. #The outer worlds byzantium Pc#However, PC gamers with less powerful machines may encounter performance issues in other areas. The Outer Worlds is one of Obsidian's best games. Thankfully, and with the exception of the Byzantium (and two/three other cities/areas), the game runs smoothly on our system. And, as you may have guessed, the game feels awful during these firefights due to these optimization issues. Now the reason I’m bringing this up is because, under certain circumstances, you can fight some enemies in Byzantium. However, Obsidian has not announced any plans to add DX12 or Vulkan support to it. Lower-level APIs, like DX12 and Vulkan, can successfully address this optimization issue. But above all other possible claims stands his genius in selecting the old Megarian town of Byzantium as the New Rome, ' the second capital of the world. However, it appears that Byzantium pushes the limits of the DX11 API in The Outer Worlds. In fact, this is something we’ve seen in numerous games on our older PC system (i7 4930K). My guess is that the DirectX 11 API is the culprit here.Īs we can clearly see, both our GPU and CPU were not stressed at all, meaning that we were limited by our memory frequency. The lowest we saw was 40fps, and that’s something that Obsidian will have to immediately address.īelow you can find some screenshots showcasing the game’s performance issues. In fact, the game was dropping to below 50fps. #The outer worlds byzantium 1080p#Going into more details, our Intel i9 9900K with an NVIDIA GeForce RTX2080Ti and 16GB of DDR4 memory at 3600Mhz had major framerate drops in Byzantium at 1080p and on Ultra settings. And while, as we wrote in our PC Performance Analysis, its first stages were not that taxing on the CPU, its later stages have major optimization issues. The Outer Worlds is the latest role-playing game from the company behind Fallout: New Vegas, Obsidian. ![]()
